Meet Evin
Evin Toomey, RN, PHN, FNP-S
Meet me, Evin Toomey. I’m a wife and mother, active athlete, a human biology research fanatic, and a truth seeker. Professionally I am a Registered Nurse, Public Health Nurse, and Family Nurse Practitioner student in the state of California. I'm traditionally trained in acute care as an ICU and Oncology as well as Western Medicine (allopathic) Primary Care. Currently I am completing a Master's Degree in the Science of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner looking forward to white coat ceremony in the Summer of 2025.
To add, I am fortunate to have vast experiences in Integrative Medicine working with functional practices since the 1990’s. I’ve worked hand-in-hand with the leading Integrative Medicine Doctors gaining valuable training and insight. Prior to immersing myself in the healthcare industry I specialized in production management and quality control ensuring that products were manufactured to spec, on time, with superb quality while eliminating production line bottlenecks. This formative background gives me a skillset and framework not taught in traditional medical education. My practice is built on five pillars: Martha Roger’s Science of Unitary and Irreducible Human Beings with ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, and justice — teachings from Australian alternative health care promoter Barbara O'neill, root cause analysis, and holistic healing. I am proud to say that advanced practice nursing is my true calling.
As a healthcare practitioner, my objective is to heal and empower individuals, families, and communities. Amongst the many hours I have spent at the bedside with patients and families in oncology and intensive care units, I have noticed a few common trends; prevention is the best medicine, chronic illnesses can be improved and eliminated, root cause analysis are essential, and shared decision making renders favorable outcomes.
With a personal desire to age well, and the objective to promote my family's health, I've researched and refined simple health routines that ensure health and longevity. Ascribed by my love for people, I've decided to share my passion for research and root cause medicine through coaching, blogging, and quality interventions such as intravenous (IV) and phototherapy. If you're looking to improve your health then I'm your gal!
